Bridal Shop Appointment Day Checklist
Bridal shops sell an experience as much as a dress. Each appointment is long, emotional and important to the customer, and the busiest booking period often follows the winter holidays, when many couples get engaged. A smooth appointment depends on preparation that happens before the customer walks in, and careful records after they leave.
Before Opening
- Review the day's appointments, consultant assignments and customer notes
- Prepare each fitting room: clean mirror, lighting, seating for guests, water
- Pull dresses requested in advance in the right sizes
- Check samples for damage, marks or loose beading
- Prepare clips, veils, shoes and accessories for try-ons
- Steam samples that need it
Welcoming the Customer
- Greet the customer and guests by name
- Confirm budget, wedding date and style preferences
- Explain how the appointment works and how long it takes
During the Appointment
- Handle samples carefully and use clips rather than pins where possible
- Keep the fitting room organised: dresses tried, dresses to try
- Note dresses the customer likes, with style numbers
- Respect the customer's pace and budget
Ordering
- Confirm style, size, colour and options in writing
- Explain production times and alteration schedules clearly
- Take measurements and record them accurately
- Take deposits and explain the policy
- Give the customer a copy of the order
Between Appointments
- Return samples to the rack in the right place
- Reset the fitting room
- Update customer notes
Closing
- Check all samples are back and undamaged
- Log any sample repairs needed
- Reconcile payments and deposits
- Confirm tomorrow's appointments and prepare notes
Alterations
- Log every alteration appointment and deadline
- Check finished alterations against the order before pickup
For customer service under pressure, see what to do when a customer wants something you cannot give. A similar appointment-based structure appears in the salon and spa opening checklist.
How MyTeamTasks Helps
Every appointment needs the same preparation and the same careful reset. In MyTeamTasks, opening, fitting room and closing routines are checklists, sample damage can be logged as a photo task, and the owner can see that each order was confirmed and every sample returned before the shop closed.
